CONTROLLER WAGNER APPLAUDS ADMINISTRATION FOR QUICK ACTION TO FIX APPEAL INFORMATION

Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner today applauded the County Office of Property Assessments for its quick action to repair reassessment appeal status information.

In a letter to Michael J. Suley, manager of the Office of Property Assessments, Wagner said, “It is important that the information that we provide to property owners be accessible and understandable. I appreciate your partnership in ensuring that our County government provides the best information possible to our taxpayers.’’

Each property listing on the County’s Web page has a tab for appeal information. If an appeal had been filed, the status of the appeal is listed on this page. Last week, a Controller’s Office investigation of listings found that, in most cases, the appeal statuses provided on the property listings did not match the definitions given in the Appeals Status Legend.
