COUNTY CONTROLLER CHELSA WAGNER RAISES CONCERN OVER USE OF COUNTY VEHICLES

Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner today addressed County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and County Manager William McKain concerning missing information regarding County-owned and leased vehicles. Last month, Wagner requested an inventory list of all vehicles owned and leased by the County from McKain in an effort to begin an audit of County vehicle use, as well as parking fees and fuel cards. Despite several courtesy extensions, the Controller still has not received a complete inventory. Wagner noted that the delays have bolstered her concern over County use and tracking of vehicles.

“I am deeply concerned that, at this point, the County Executive cannot, or will not, provide my auditors with this inventory, which includes a simple count of the number of take-home vehicles,” Wagner said.
