O’CONNOR SWORN IN FOR FIRST FULL TERM AS COUNTY CONTROLLER

Allegheny County Controller Corey O’Connor, joined by family, was sworn in to his first full term by Magisterial District Judge James J. Hanley Jr.  O’Connor received 242,933 votes in the November General Election, the highest total of any Countywide candidate. He has served as County Controller by appointment since July 2022.

“I’m honored by the confidence placed in me by the voters of Allegheny County, and it’s my commitment to help bring accessible and transparent government to all residents. In the past 18 months, I believe we have already made great strides toward fostering an open and honest government that brings forthright solutions to our toughest challenges,” O’Connor said.

O’Connor has introduced new platforms for public access to government data; audited County departments including the Jail, Economic Development, and Human Services; and enacted ethics reform measures on the Allegheny County Retirement Board, among other initiatives.

“I greatly look forward to continuing and expanding upon our efforts thus far and to working with partners including the new County administration and Treasurer and County Council. Congratulations to all those being sworn in today and in the near future.”
